It's A...

I went to the doctor yesterday for my regular checkup and while he was measuring my stomach and listening to the baby...he asked, "Do you have any twins in your family?". I quickly replied with, "WHY? Do you hear more than one baby in there?". He responded with, "Well it does sound like a couple of heartbeats jumping around in there but it could be the way I was holding the doppler". All along I've been joking with Luke about how I must be carrying twins because I've gotten' so big so fast...After telling the doctor this he said, "Well you are big. I mean you aren't big, you just measure bigger than you should for 18 1/2 weeks"...needless to say I was a little confused and shocked when I left the office that morning. We were supposed to wait until next week sometime to do our ultrasound, however, we really NEEDED to know now whether there was 1 or 2...

So...today we went and had our ultrasound done and we are happy to announce there is ONLY 1 BABY and that IT'S A BOY!! We also found out I'm about a week further than we originally thought which explains my "bigness". Due date is May 13th.

We are excited! Although, a girl would have been a nice change but we already know about boys and as long as this one is anything at all like his brothers we know we are going to be OK! When I say "we" are excited, I mean Luke & I-our boys not so much (yet). Case agrued with us about it and told his dad, "You're wrong, Dad"...he HAS been praying for over a year for a baby sister, so we expected this a little. He wouldn't even look at the pics of his baby brother so we could explain it to him-hopefully soon he will get over it and realize how much fun another brother will be. As for Mr. Logan...when his Daddy told him, his only response was, "Dang it". I think he'll be quicker to win over than Case.

Sorry for the long story...I wanted to share ALL the excitement of the past 2 days with everyone.

Emma & Shayla

Grandma Lavonna & Case

Papa Steve-We really liked this picture. Thought he looked very "Papa" like.

Lauren & Joel

Shayla & I

Jenna holding Mason

Mason just a singing away...we had all just finished singing and as soon as we stopped, Mason started his own song. Very CUTE!

HO, HO, HO...Neil being Santa & he had the hat to prove it.

Case got a cement truck from Grandma & Papa...it came complete w/hard hat, rake & shovel. He LOVED it!!

Logan & his new scooter from Uncle Andrew & Aunt Teresa & Girls.

Grandma & Papa also got Logan a dump truck-He was definitely a big fan...

My Belly...

This is for my Sister-in-law Summer and Brother Jeremy who don't get the privledge of seeing my beautiful growing self everyday :)...Since Summer and I are both expecting babies in May (only 9 days apart!!), I thought it would be fun to kind of compare bellies. I'm pretty sure mine is bigger-since this is my 3rd baby and Summer's working her 2nd...a sweet baby girl!!

Case's 1st day of Preschool...Sept. 2, 2010

1st Day of Preschool Sept. 2, 2010

Case was SO excited about going to school...he got a new backpack and he got new crayons [thanks to his Aunt Teesa (Teresa)]. He was even SO excited that he wanted to sleep in his "school clothes" the night before. His reason was so, "that I will be all ready to go when I wake up". I loved seeing this excitement!

Still in the back of my mind I had a picture of how the 1st day of school would go...I imagined we would pull up to the school still excited but as we walked closer and closer to the classroom he would get stiffer and stiffer and then the protesting would start. I imagined walking in and literally having to have the teacher "pry" him off of me as he is kicking and screaming....BOY! Did my imagination run away with me??? His excitement only grew and grew-until I literally had to grab him to have him wait for me. We snapped a few pictures and then enter his class...He took his backpack off, proudly showed it to his teacher and then put it in "his" cubby. Then like a flash he was gone-off to play. Never looking back until I said, "bye, Case" he glanced back and said, "bye, Mom" and then right back to his playing.

Whew! What a relief...I think. This is how I wanted it to go-right? Yes it is...although, for a few minutes I secretly wished he would have "needed" me more. After a few tears I realized it was much better this way and that Case's no longer my baby boy-now he's my little man and that's ok.

He's always making silly faces in pictures...
Modeling his back pack
Outside of school-waiting patiently (kind of) to go in...
Finally inside and ready to learn :). He's such a big boy now!

Logan's 2nd Birthday!

Logan turned the BIG 2 on July 18th...I can't believe how big is getting. Doesn't seem like my baby boy should be 2 already. We had a nice little party at Papa & Grandma Schaper's to celebrate his big day, complete with pizza, po & Veggie Tales...

He had a special birthday breakfast. When I asked him what he wanted he said, "Choc chip cookies"...we went with chocolate chip pancakes instead :) We put 2 candles in his pancake and he loved that-he wanted us to keep lighting them over and over and over again...

Opening presents-he had lots of help. (BTW, sorry about the poor quality of pictures...think our camera is on it's last leg + Daddy was taking the pics. That's why there isn't a whole lot of them...)

The cake & gift table
Logan requested a "Veg tales" cake...so Mommy did her best to recreate Bob & Larry. He was satisfied and that's all I cared about.

He was excited about getting to blow out candles again...
